Step one: Do not tell lady (from now on known as Queen Stress-a-lot) that she may not do anything for 48 hours, therefore making it impossible for her to distract herself.
Step two: Do not make Queen Stress-a-lot wait hours longer than promised for results and then proceed to tell her to stop calling to ask about them. Don't make a promise you can't keep!
Step three: When results are finally given, do not tell Queen Stress-a-lot that really the results don't say anything at all and everything is a complete unknown right now, therefore requiring Her Royal Stressedness to come back in a few days to repeat the process all over again.
Combine this with previous doctor relations and incidents and the world wonders why I get so adamantly pissed every time a doctor tells me something's wrong with me. That's great! I already knew that! Now fix it or don't bother informing me.
In other news, we went to life group last night (aka bible study) and met quite a few cool people. We knew about half the people there, the other half we had no clue who they were, so it was a nice mix to get us to mingle but not feel awkward. One of the women there is HR for Target two blocks from my place and practically begged me to apply for a job. Apparently they have major attendance and employee theft problems there. Good to know that the only qualities employers look for here is proper work ethics...though sad that it's come down to that here. You think I'm frustrated living in Savannah...I've got nothing on this poor gal (who's from North Carolina and also laments about how nobody here knows how to use a blinker).
The dog we were hoping to adopt didn't work out. He lasted 12 hours and then attacked Truffle. Thank God she's smart enough to somehow find a way INTO the mattress sheets (literally, between mattress and sheet) during the middle of a chase because he almost got her eye. Though I can't tell if the mark she has came from a tooth or a nail. Foster mom had to take him back. We're considering getting a smaller dog when we get a bigger apartment (more room for her to roam around and get used to the dog while at the same time having the dog be smaller and more easily maintained by a good bop on the head from her clawed paw of doom).
In a bout of happy freedom after two torturous days of doing nothing (I had to wait for inconclusive results to be told that I really should be okay living normally again) I went out with my fellow Oregonian sista who happened to graduate in a city that's five minutes away from the one I graduated from. We spent the entire day walking around River St and downtown with our cameras, acting the tourist, and making absurd noises of pleasure every time we actually found a shady spot that lasted more than ten seconds. We ate candy for breakfast (in my defense, there were nuts in mine so I got protein and good vitamins too, not just sugar), sandwiches for lunch after learning the pizza place we wanted to go to opened way later than our tummies could wait for, and talked about everything under the sun while walking under the sun. There's a very good chance JT and I will be taking her to Tybee Island tomorrow to prove to her that there really is an ocean you can go in that a) isn't surrounded by major boulders and driftwood and b) is actually warm.
There's a very thin ray of hope right now that will hopefully get bigger and brighter in the weeks to come. JT found out that someone is getting moved up to a different position, which means someone else is getting moved into that person's position, which means JT has a very good chance of getting promoted within 2-3 months (sorry that was so convoluted. Be grateful I said it though, the way JT put it was ridiculous to follow). That means that if he can find a position to transfer to as soon after his mandatory six months as possible we could be back home in 8-9 months! Granted, it's extremely unlikely he will find a position so soon and most of the west coast will probably require him to work his promoted position a year instead of six months but if he can kick enough butt there just might be a chance! He's very closely following all the goings-ons right now with people getting promoted or moved so at least we know that the second he has the ability to try he can get in on it ASAP.
Well, that's all the news for now. Maybe next time something exciting will have happened. Like...flying squirrels taking over our apartment. Or...Truffle growing a mustache. Oh! Or JT deciding to become a one man football team!
You never know. Weirder things have happened. Much to the misfortune of the world.
