When I first got into SCAD I was informed that it is ridiculously impossible to find an apartment and that to obtain one we would have to reserve it months in advance.
I will give the (mis)informant this: it is ridiculously impossible to find an AFFORDABLE apartment IN DOWNTOWN regardless of how far in advance you try to reserve it.
However, we did not look downtown. Like Corvallis, we decided being a ways away from all the fun would provide better living conditions (and better affordability).
We found an apartment. We applied for it last weekend. And today we were accepted with very high praises: our credit is so good we're not required to put down a deposit. Not only that, but they thought we would have to be in a 2-bedroom until August (if we move early) because no 1-bedrooms would be available. But alas! Someone is moving out at the end of the month, so a 1-bdrm will be available mid-July. If JT gets a job sooner than we thought we don't have to worry about where we'll live for the first month. Yay!
So we now officially have a place to live in Georgia. A home in Georgia!!! One big part of the dream accomplished right there!!!
Oh what a feeling :-D
